The Door Knock Life

You sold 27 policy's this week door knocking ? What mostly fe ? That's selling an avg of 1 deal per hr every hr . You door knocked mostly strangers I'm assuming with no lead card ?That seems almost impossible or your the greatest knocker on earth .

That's selling an avg of 1 deal per hr every hr.

Don't confuse the hours knocking with total hours worked ... a lot of long days this week.

Not one FE/simplified issue whole life app.

This was middle/upper middle single family home subdivision, four to six bedroom two story colonials.

I had no lead card but I use a door knocking app (canvass.com) so I typically had the homeowner's name when I knocked.

"Hi DonP, sorry to bother you but how else am I to get in touch with you? I'll be out of hair quicker than your favorite shampoo ... My name is Daytimer, and I want to meet with you for a quick minute or so because ..."

Yes, I stole that silly shampoo line and I have yet to have someone not laugh ... and once you get them laughing, you're halfway to the kitchen table if you say the right things in the right way and say them with confidence.

I rebuttal twice and then "thankyouverymuchhaveaniceday"

Tried a different neighborhood today looking for a bit more working class and overshot to the downside ... these folks, generally, had no class. One of the worst door knocking experiences I have ever had.

Three deals but I would have rather stayed in bed than go through what I had t go through to get them. The meanest, most suspicious bunch of folks I've ever found living in one little neighborhood.

So you door knocked 4-6 bedroom homes cold and sold 27 policys ? Whole life , term , cancer ? So my only question to you . All these years why have you ever bought one lead if you can sell so much cold knocking ? Not only have I never personally heard of someone doing this well I can't recall ever reading anyone doing that well . Son your a unicorn of all unicorns . Congratulations.

I had another great week on the doors - I'll spare you the details but I will offer this piece of interesting development: This week temperatures got into the high 80's and today will hit 90*F or higher. The higher the temps have gone, the fewer doors have opened.

Yesterday was my poorest day since I started this: One deal, and I'm not even sure she was happy about it lol. Over about four hours of knocking, I only spoke with four people. Terrible, terrible contact rate. And there were many homes with cars in the driveways, air conditioners running, and voices inside who just didn't bother to come to the door.

Heading out now to do a Saturday 10 AM to 2 PM ... we'll see if it gets any better.

Next week I may have to switch up my knocking to focus on evenings instead of day time. I'm thinking 4PM to 8 PM for cold knocks and try to set appointments/presentations for earlier when possible. Right now I usually start knocking no later than 10 AM, and do about four to six hours cold to set appointments for the later afternoons/evenings.

The other alternative is that now that more and more businesses are returning to their physical facilities, it may be time to start going in cold at businesses instead.

In that vein, @DHK shared this on Facebook and I'm putting it here:

I haven't had one rain day yet this month of May however "they" are calling for rain to overspread the area sometime after 2PM ... I'm bringing my rain gear.

Today, my name is Poncho Knuckles.

So your cold door knocking a targeted list in middle class 3-4 bedroom homes ? Or did you mail 1000 mailer and buy the list and door knock saying they received this card recently showing it too them ? What are you selling these " middle class " people ?
