I'd say this much - I'd hate to make a living, long-term, based on what my Google placement was on any given day. I'm a SEO fan. I'm a better fan of driving direct traffic to my site through partnerships and affiliate agreements.

It's always going to be a changing game. If you do it right, it's not nearly as volatile. This is an extreme example of a situation where everyone is always trying to stomp everyone out like a game of king of the hill.
