For those that don't want to read the story, child had a brain tumor. Parents took her to an out-of-network hospital. The carrier did the right thing and paid for procedures for months. They drew the line when a 6 or 7 figure operation was proposed, and gave notice to utilize an in-network hospital.
IMO, that company is amazing for even honoring out-of-network charges in the first place. This is one of those cases where they went above and beyond and are now getting slammed in the news because they didn't just give these people everything their hearts could desire.
