I just created a quote with United to see if it shows the same non-compliant plans.

When selecting the copay saver and saver 80 plan, here is the text at the top of the quote page:

Plans issued with effective dates of September 23, 2010 will include Health Care Reform benefits that are not described in the current Plan Brochure. Our health plans comply with all applicable state and federal laws today and will continue to do so as changes take effect.

I understand the brochure not being updated, but the quote page still shows the old, non-compliant summary. All the other carriers I use have updated their online brochures as well as their quote pages. Not sure if the text above was already displayed and I missed it, but this answers my question about UHC being compliant.

Re: United Heath One Plans Will Comply with Reform, Effective Tod

They are supposed to be updating the site by September 30th to reflect the changes.

Re: United Heath One Plans Will Comply with Reform, Effective Tod

I ran on on the GR/UHC site. Got the same disclaimer.

This is new software. You would think they would get it right.

Probably doesn't matter.

Sticking with their guns on the 30 day wait on effective dates.

Ran same quote on Quotit. For Copay Select with $2500 they are $804.

Comparable plans from Aetna, Blue, etc are $100 less.

Re: United Heath One Plans Will Comply with Reform, Effective Tod

UHC plans will actually be cheaper now than pre-9/23. Before, you had to add a rider for unlimited Rx that was about 10% of the plan price for Co-pay Select. Now the prices will stay the same but the rider won't have to be added. Anyone who bought a policy between 3/23 and 9/22 will have a credit for the rider on next month's bill from what I've been told.

Doesn't really matter though since Anthem is blowing away every other company with rates 30-40% below the rest of the market.

The great equalizer are HSAs. For 10/1 effective dates, 2113 zip, m43, f48, c9 here's how they stack up:

GR: $406
Time: $409
Aetna: $513
Carefirst: $527

Trying to figure out why they don't just throw in the towel. They have been my junk yard dog carrier for a couple of yrs now since they are the only one that will rider anything and everything.

Of course riders are now verboten on kids, so even that isn't an option.

Not here. Just barely in the hunt. Humana usually beats them but we don't have rates for children under 19 in GA yet so I can't compare.

I am down to 24 cases on the books with them and most of those were issued in the last 18 months or so. Every one is something no one else would take, or would write but with a rate that looks like a mortgage payment.

Try to beat Anthem in VA for a $6k deductible HSA:

Anthem: $319
GR: $369
Humana: Probably around $400, not quoting for some reason on Norvax
Assurant: $597
Aetna: $692

Now let's try that for two 55 year old parents with two 18 year old kids:

Anthem: $474
GR: $614
Assurant: $904
Aetna: $987

Can I play too?

Using John's example for zip 33309:

10k Family HSA

UHC $393
Coventry $403
Humana $436
Avmed $477
Cigna $492
Aetna $506

5k Family HSA

Blue Cross $492
UHC $562
Avmed $569
Humana $584
Cigna ($6k) $602
Aetna ($6k) $673
Coventry $710

Re: United Heath One Plans Will Comply with Reform, Effective Tod

Here BX stomps everyone into the dirt on HSA price. They're over 100$ cheaper on basically every deductible level, before you let them underwrite the policy.

Well then, don't let them underwrite.
