Untapped Market? I Think!

I believe although that the Duck sells a ton of policies, I would agree with most all that have responded to you. I am like you, being new and Senior Solutions has offerered me a bunch of promises and of course I also have an offer from some family friends of people I know, who are indepenent and have been for about five years and doing very well so they say. I too, like you am in a different state and forced to change careers. I have a family and daughter to take care of and am scared, but like everyone has told you, get a few months of training, then go indy and just work. Buy leads, work them, call them try to get that appt. and go and try to close. I guess that's it, but some of the senior reps in the biz can guide you better, as far a I go, I was in sales for many years and now am making a change. I just hope that I can at least make 50k my first year and continue to improve everyday and learn this new business. Good luck to you, all of the people here are wonderful. Thank you everyone.

Hi I am new to the insurance industry also. I've been interviewing with United Insurance Group to work the senior market. Any advise or feedback on this company and getting started in the senior market

I am not familiar with them. Are they an insurance agency?

If they are there are several questions I would ask.

1. When you write apps are you the agent of record?
2. Do you have to pay for office space and use of the telephone?
3. Are you charged for admin services?
4. How much are they going to charge you for leads and what kind of leads do they have?
5. What kind of training program do they have and what does it cover?
6. Will you be assigned to an experienced agent who will mentor you for the first several months?

If you would like to discuss these further please don't hesitate to give me a call. There are a whole lot of things to be aware of before an agent commits to an Insurance Agency.

Don't forget the over sized wallet with the long chain and huge rings on several fingers. If you really want to complete the "new image", some gaudy tattoos would complement the rest of your outfit nicely.

Damn near forgot, a new hat, unbent, with the bill worn sideways.

You may want to also get several tattos.

Are you talking about UNH... United Healthcare? If you are I have 3+ yrs experience with them as a ICA ( Independent Career Agent). I use them, they dont use me , and it has been verrry good for me.

I think I posted the reply wrong, it merged with my other note. Anyways, currently with Aflac, looking at Penn Life Senior Solutions, market is 65+.

What does indy mean? Again, have mercy on me, I'm new here. They're looking to hire me for a manager position. I've got some training from Aflac, but I'm curious to see where this will take me.

Don't waste your time!! AFLAC has a great marketing plan, they are already in the majority of businesses, and it is very difficult to replace them. I believe it those freakin ducks that the give away. Get with a good life insurance company or go independent, but you can make as much money off of one sale than you can running all over the world trying to get past AFLAC.
