I love it when people who could actually care less about a forum comes in and belittles everyone who might like and agree with what the topic states! I think God needs to show you the way my friend, I dont see anyone else calling other agents pitiful.;)

Back when the Part D plans started, I drove 2 1/2 hours to sit in a WalMart selling Humana at $50 a pop. Wound up making $20K that first year in PDP sales, although not all from that one WalMart. I chose to drive that far because there was no managed care in that particular county so I was not in competition with Kaiser, Secure Horizions, etc.

PFFS because avaialble at the same time so I sold a bunch of those policies. Over the years I have retained many of those clients and have moved them into better plans.

I am sitting in a hotel room today because I still make a good chunk of my living from this one little county. Yesterday I sold 3 MA plans and made $1,250. Today I look forward to 6 appointments and would be surprised if I don't sell anywhere from 4-8 plans for another $2K in commissions.

I couldn't do this had I not decided to sit in a booth here 5 years ago. But the opportunity of 5 years ago is gone. People have no reason to stop and talk with an *** sitting in a booth. There are other ways to generate business and for me, direct mail has been amazingly profitable this year.

So I never put down the concept of sitting in a WalMart. Those agents who think any form of marketing is beneath them are retards (apologies to Yoda).
