I'd have to agree with the comment above by Valdet. If you have the ability to alter code in your website, installing Google Analytics is an absolute MUST. Before I learned the value of the google analytics I used the traffic stats from web hosts I had and got all types of data that could be from robots, spiders, etc...
If someone else hosts/manages your site, have them install the code for you (it's easy) and set up an account you have access to. It's also the best way to monitor SEO results if your outsourcing that...
Even without delving deep into its capability, with Google you can tell exactly where your traffic is coming from (on the web and in the world) how they got there, what they did when they were on your site, and a ton of other stuff...there's even a way to look at your actual website and see where visitors are clicking most - you'll be surprised what gets the most clicks, I guarantee it.
You also might find out half your visitors are in Malaysia and India...I doubt your licensed to sell there...
Here's a great tip for anyone already using GA...make sure you apply the filters to exclude your own IP address. That way your own visits to your site won't effect your trends and stats...
