What dental plan do you have?

Dental insurance is mostly for suckers.

Re for suckers.

I think that may depend on a combination of the state of your teeth, the nature and cost of the dental insurance, and whether or not you view dental insurance as having a risk component.

Most of the discussions of dental insurance I have seen here seem to suggest that dental insurance is a failure if it's cost is not completely recovered in services during the course of a year. (I may not be interpreting comments I have read correctly.) It seems to me that view ignores the idea of insurance covering risk.

Just sell yourself an RNA policy. The dental discount on their fraternal benefits is just about as good. Dental insurance is mostly for suckers.

I don't think I even need to sell myself a policy. I think we're all members by being agents.

that's right. That Carrington discount plan that we get with that is actually pretty good. I was filling in expensive medication one time at the pharmacy and my health insurance card that I pay a whole lot of money for gets the price down a little less than half of what the full retail was. And then I pull out that little Royal Neighbors card and I said if I didn't have any insurance at all but I had this card see what I would pay and he got the price down almost the same as my insurance did which of course I get that card free in my insurance I pay around $1800 a month for.

5 kids...our dental plan is well worth it. That is 14 cleanings a year! We have 2 in braces and we will max out ortho for sure, I have MetLife. I am not sure if you can get it if you aren't in a group? Its dirt cheap though.

Well that's no help :)
