What Do You Drive?

I have always driven GM for the same reasons. Buy american. Many of my union member clients drive Toyotas and Hondas. If I see a grey Camry I think teacher. I am probably going to join them on my next ride. Japanese or German.

I saw a teacher (union of course) driving a Prius without an Obummer sticker. First time for everything.

I see that all the time, Obama sticker on a VW, or Honda, or a GM car with a Romney...(which makes sense on the other side of MI where he is from).

On a 100% made in Japan Prius though..that's just wrong:no:

(They have plans on building it here by 2015)

Can I say, we don't do much field sales anymore but when we did some us had VW's and Nissan's new. Warranty and gas is great. But my point here if anyone is looking for a recommendation? I store my one car and we just turned in another so I wanted something cheap BUT still decent and fun to get me back and forth to the office. We mainly drive the wifes car around. SUV...2 kids. Nice ride!

But, I searched all weekend a couple of weeks ago and picked up a 2012 KIA Optima LXS. It's the top of the line version of the EX/LX but holy crap! I shopped 4 dealerships and picked it up for about $30K! You name it...this car has it all. Even the new head lights like Audi. Black. Chrome wheels. And, coming form my SRT8...this is a 4 cyclinder turbo 240 horse so it does have some GREAT get up and go. It gets 24/28 mpg! It does not need or take premium gas either for being a turbo.

They have great incentives right now. Now, I leased it for 2 years and put hardly anything down and my payment is $20 monthly premium sale (lol...thats how I gauge what we buy!). 5 years 60K warranty is the standard also.

K...KIA...where's my endorsement fee!

I have the optima too, pics a few pages back, but I'm nearly positive you shorted the horses, 280+hp and gets 30mpg highway

I donm't where you are coming from on that. I would challenge you find even one post of mine that could be "ugly".

If you need to justify driving foreign then why not just buy american to start with?

Chevy Impala. Chevy pick up, GMC Accadia. When I was showing horses it was a chevy dually and an Elite LQ trailer. When I had a bike it was a Harley and if I ever own another one it will be a Harley.

I've never owned a datsun or kia or whatever rice burners there out there nor will I take as a rental when I travel.

I liked my Unpalatable when I had it, was my last car, but it was assembled in Canada had the maple leaf on the drivers door.

Gets confusing as some foriegn companies build some vehicles here while some American companies build some cars in Canada and Mexico.

Indeed it does, the Ford Fusion is now being made at the Flat Rock plant versus Mexico adding 1300 Jobs to the greater Detroit area. The Hybrid Fusion gets the best MPG in its class with the CMax hybrid rolling out that is better then the Pruis in a lot of categories including MPG, HP, and room. The Pruis is made 100% in Japan adding no jobs to the U.S, while the Cmax is made at the Wayne MI plant.

Ford all the way baby......I Drive a 2005 Diesel Excursion (1 in Storage also on the West Coast) and a 2011 F250 Diesel Pickup. The wife drives an Escape mixed fuel.

Believe me, The Diesel monster saves in Gas. I drive Boy Scouts all around the State and the more Scouts I get into the vehicle the less vehicles we have to take on Camping trips.

I hate that they ended the model in 2005 because of those liberal tree hugging, uninformed BASTA.....S....

The base Mustang gets that MPG with over 300hp.

Yep, I'm aware of that. But a coupe is not in my best interest. Nor is the bland interior.

What is in your best interest? The new 2013 is by far not bland, its focus is a retro design with some basic refinements. Overall, its not even in the same class of cars, so I understand.
The 2013 Mustang 5.0 vs M3 was an excellent article on both performance and price. Motor Trend Starts Fight Between The BMW M3, Ford Mustang GT

As far as your korean car made in GA, The fusion is going to start making noise in the highly competitive sedan market especially in the hybrid market where it has the best MPG.

I needed 4 doors, more interior space and comfort. Don't get me wrong, I love the new 5.0 mustang and boss that I've seen but its not for me right now.
The new fusion does look really nice until I found out it is very slow and the interior again seemed ho hum. All for the same as tested price as my car. I wouldn't mind driving one though
