What Do You Wear?

The agent needs to dress in a manor that makes them feel supremely confident.

I've waited YEARS to catch you with a spelling error.

manor: the mansion of a lord or wealthy person

manner: a persons outward bearing or way of behaving towards others

So, to put your statement in proper English:

The agent needs to dress in a manner that makes them feel supremely confident.

Yes, there will be a quiz later.

Being the Lord of a Mansion I'm sure you can see how that is an easy mistake to make.

Thank you me lord, your minion is eternally grateful.

Actually, if Frank lives in a Manor, so he does get dressed in a manor, regardless of the manner in which he dresses.

Webpickypickypicky should be eliminated in any manner.

I get the feeling walking in to some business that the front desk staff automatically thinks, "here comes another salesman". I want to look professional, which is why I wear a shirt and tie, but on the other hand, I want to be disarming enough where they don't put up a wall because they think I'm just going to be another smooth talking salesperson.

Maybe I'm making it up.

Briko3,

The same could be stated for someone wearing a polo shirt and slacks.

I agree with the main message in this post which is "wear what makes you feel comfortable enough to play your A game". I've met obnoxious people in suits and casual dress, so I never judge anyone by their appearance, unless their belt does not match their shoes...:D

For business meetings (or meetings at business locations), I always ask what is the recommended attire so I do not start "on the wrong foot" when I arrive for the meeting.

Dress for your A game and be successful. Do not over think it.

I am a newby to the business, but I generally wear business casual. It has worked for me..... I know an agent who does very well and he wears old sweats and t-shirt.

...and an excellent bottle of Pinot Noir.

Tell us more about the Pinot. Vintner? Year?

Jacqueline and I have a propensity for Cakebread Cellers Pinot. Somewhat pricey in a restaurant but a lot more affordable by the case.

Our all time favorite is Opus 1 either 2001 or 2002. The '03 is still a bit young and has a slightly bitter finish.
