What if I Suck

Rob charges $5,000 for his services.

The rest of us give advice at no charge.

Of course Rob is out of network, so no discounts.

That's the Pajama Man, and it's not a joke, it's actually $5K, I couldn't justify charging an individual that.

For any sales training to work, it must be effective, affordable and have set forth realistic expectations.

And yes, while we all give free advice on here, it'll take you a year (or longer) to learn what you can learn in a few weeks by hiring a trainer. Any trainer, not specifically speaking about myself. Why do large companies hire outside trainers and experts? It must work in some manner, as long as they're legit.

My 21 yr. old son is about 2/3 the way through Rob's training. He started with just a very (and I mean very) basic knowledge of insurance - and virtually zero knowledge of how to sell it.

Rob was nice enough to allow me to join the training session and I have to say that he's terrific. I did not realize just how much more productive I could be. In fact, I sold a number of policies where I might not have previously due to his teaching. So the net cost of his training has been zero.

My son is to the point of role playing and I have no doubt that he'll be successful much sooner than if he had learned to sell insurance the way I did - trial and error.

I have suggested to a number of new (and seasoned) agents that to spend some money to really learn to sell insurance is money more than well spent. Not all of us had the benefit of being captive, having a mentor, etc. to help us learn to sell productively. Rob is the real deal.

Lastly, I've been working with Chumps to see if he can obtain a discount for his association members - or at least for his charter members.

I think that you are concentrating too much on the app. count and closing the sale.

Instead of concentrating on the commission, you need to track those things that you have complete control over.

Try this - get a list of names Cole - Official Cole Directory - Coles Reverse Criss+Cross Directory - XDates - Marketing Tool and make a goal of 250 calls a day for a solid month. Think of your business as a job. Your job description is not sales. Your job description is prospecting.

I would almost bet that after two weeks of 250/calls a day that you will be so busy that it will be almost impossible to continue the calls..... Do it anyway....

Best wishes to your Wife.

Why would you pick companies that have misappropriated funds? If you're joking fine, if not, there's no validity to your debate.

Good question...have you asked Ford, GM and Chrysler?

I'm not sure you want to go down this road. If large companies do it, that might be the prime reason not to do it.

Correct, internally. Leadership ship starts at the top and trickles down, whether it's positive or negative.

I was referring to companies trying to get their team to do better, not ones led by greedy execs flying a round in jets asking for a hand out, while running the company into the ground.

Nope, not joking.

No validity? If you look around, big businesses of all sorts are suffering/dying because of poor choices/mismanagement...
