What Makes a Good Sales Manager?

Sounds like we are talking about the president or any other person in a leadership role, maybe a preacher or a politician or mayor or cop. Same can be said about a lot of folks. A coach or a business owner. A teacher or principal.

I heard at a leadership conference the following (paraphrased) "if you have to ask what it takes to lead, you aren't ready to lead."

I'd suggest you read some John Maxwell and other manager/leadership books.

Also, people don't care how much you know unless they know how much you care, and you can show them that you care by getting to know them, serving them, respecting them and leading them by example, with accountability on your part. Go to bat for the, have faith in them and constructively correct them and give them your most valuable resource, your time.

I am about to head into the world of Sales management. I would love to know what you would like your sales manager to do for you to help you succeed. What would a "perfect" sales manager offer you.
