al thats because they dont NEED content that expensive, 10-15/article does the trick.

You may be right... I don't know for sure... except that I believe that good content is better than bad content... and most insurance sites in my opinion have bad content. If the agents do well with bad content... you have to wonder if they would do better with good content.

Website content is marketing.

All marketing is a crap-shot.

If we all knew what 'worked' we would surely not tell anyone else!!! :-)

YGMM is being very modest. No reason for him to really get into it, but he is more than qualified to be talking about what works and what doesn't.

And so are you. We know who you are, what you do and have seen examples of your work.

YGMM is cloaked... and I have no idea who he is, what creds he has, nor have I ever seen a sample of his writing, his site, etc.

In my world "quals" are earned and proven... not just given or accepted.

I'm not saying it isn't so, but you saying it is, doesn't work for me. As President Regan once said, "Trust, but verify!"

im not selling anything, so there isn't anything that needs verification. my point is solid, unless you are going to invest in building an authority site with hundreds of articles, expensive backlinks like prweb press releases, legit guest posts, directory links like botw/yahoo, then you probably fall into the pool of 99% of agents/internet marketers, they just need good content , which can be had for 10-15/article.

I will tell you what the biggest challenge and only challenge is---the time involved! Every time I write a blog post it ends up on Page 1 of Google. If I write a post on Lincoln Moneyguard, it is on Page 1. If I write a post on long term care and diabetes it is on page 1; if I write a post on State farm long term care insurance, it is on Page 1. So why am I not a blogging machine? Why am I not setting aside 90 minutes a day to write a post? Why can I not write more than 1 post every 6 weeks? Because , I have no time that is why!! I am too busy producing, there is no time for writing!

"ltc," I'd like to see your writing. Can you point us to some of the work you have done that has come up #1 on Google?

I've been writing on the net for 15 years (starting with AOL in '93) and I've never been near #1 on any subject search (w/o location.)

I've been on the first page of Google, but ONLY if you show 50 items and not the usual 10 or 20!!!

It is quite an accomplishment to consistently have your work come up #1 on Google, even for a day! I'd sure like to see some of your pieces so maybe I can learn how to get to #1 myself someday. Others here might also be interested in seeing your literary technique. Good job.

4 blog posts? 50 max...most of us aint running an authority site

What do you mean by 50 Max? Suppose a site has between 50-60 blog posts. Does it not do them any good to keep blogging to say, 100, 150?

I don't really know what an "authority site" is. All I'm looking to do is generate and work leads. More leads the merrier. Should I keep blogging?

also, one more question: I may go days without writing a blog article, and then one day get on a roll and write 4 or 5 articles. Does it make any difference whether I publish them all at once, or am I better off spreading them out over time? Thanks.

I have sites that have 1 page of content generating 5-10 leads a day. In fact, you don't need a lot of content to rank, however for competitive terms you'll need a lot of high quality links pointing back to your content. Case in point, look at the number seven result in Google for "car insurance rates" Get REAL CHEAP AUTO INSURANCE RATES today!.

They have little more than one page, with next to no content. But they have a boatload of links.
