What're your thoughts on Adult Entertainment Industry insurance?

I've been in B2B sales for almost 20 years. Roughly half in advertising, and the other half in insurance sales. From the standpoint of retention, e&o, servicing, auditing issues, and late payments, I would anticipate this as being a poor industry to focus on. As I write this response, I come up with more and more reasons why this would be a problem industry with issues generally not seen in other industries.

Among many other issues, this will be one of the first industries in a recession where you will be seeing businesses go under, with cancellations and non payments, and you'd have to rebuild much of your book.

Furthermore, underwriters and csrs are often female, and you will ask them to service and underwrite accounts that often objectify females, adding one more layer difficulty to the scenario.

With all that said, it is entirely possible you could focus on this industry and make a lot of money. However, I can make some very strong arguments for other industries were you can make more money with less work and headache, and e&o risk.

I'm not entirely convinced that these businesses are always the first to go under in a recession. And just look at all those strip clubs now that are finding other ways to operate - like offering curbside food pickup (no idea why anyone is actually using this service, but...). But anyway, I don't know...on the insurance side of it, I'm not sure it's that crazy? You never know when you've found your niche...

Right, this is a perfect example.

Entertainment, group settings, and food service, as usual, are the hardest hit. None of the auto repair shops I insure had to change their operations, because their business model is solid.

Now, in addition to the adult entertainment businesses that have either completely gone out of business, or simply stopped paying their premiums, now you have ones that have entirely changed their business model requiring new policies, endorsements which require extra paperwork, or worse, operations that aren't covered because they don't bother to tell their insurance agent about their new risks, or don't care. Now, on top of all the headaches, the insurance agent's e&o is at stake.

Most modern day adult industry workers are people using private snapchats, instagrams, or just plain having a onlyfans. Most of these people don't understand and won't even bother talking to you lol.
