It may not be a bad idea yo go with a captive company for a few years. Salary...training and benefits. Check out their office and your potential manager.

Hi there- I'm in a similar situation to the person who started this thread. Can you give some examples of captive companies? I'm in Indianapolis.

I'm new to insurance also. But being captive means you can only sell for one company. Example- If you work for say State Farm or Allstate ,you can only sell their products.

If you are non- captive, you can sell for as many companies as you like.

Hope that was a good, although short, explanation on being captive.
