Many of the FE IMOs/FMOs are now branching out to other areas, annuities, Medsupp, etc but who was the first one you remember coming along specializing in FE by itself?

If you're talking true, Whole Life, bank drafted FE using DM leads, the first one I remember was Life of Boston, who is now Lincoln Heritage. But a lot of companies sold nothing but small face, simplified issue "burial insurance" decades before that. The Huff-Cook MBA in Virginia & Tennessee is a great example. I know of one company in Texas that was selling burial policies as early as 1895.

Soon after I started writing for LH in 1994, Huff-Cook formed Settlers Life to specialize in FE and offered discounted DM leads to market. I got contracted with them then, since I already had a Huff-Cook contract. I've been contracted with them ever since. (I still have a few Settlers policies on the books from back then!)

Pure logical guess... but if you think about it, FMO's general drive a more captive agency and where most likely the companies first choice for this offering so that they could control how and to whom it was offered. Independent agents are like herding cats... better yet like trying to play fetch.

Doesn't everything trace back to NAA, SLS, etc. I can't think of many other Adam/eve marketers that most of the other ones are offshoot from.
