Why Crappy Leads from Affiliates Will Never Stop!

So very true....One of the vendors I tried out was Leadbot, there system of paying for 25 or 30 leads in advance was terrible for me...I called my rep once and asked how much lead flow I could get out of the states I was licensed with and he said 8 per day then I mentioned I've had my account on for 2 weeks and had pulled 2 leads the entire time....I later found out that they could sell leads to someone else for a higher price then I paid and I was only getting the overflow...no way out of the contract or refund and they get your money up front.

I know I will never use that type of system again I don't want to try someone out with $800 dollars. I think this form of lead generation is dead ie by buying leads... I think generating your own is the way to go...

My new question is this...Do you on your website provide a contact form like the lead companies or do you provide an instant quote on the website...I've always hated the idea of providing the quote because everyone thinks they are preffered best and its difficult getting reality to set in when you have some other agent out there encouraging this and lowballing hoping to keep the policy in force after being issued other than as applied.

Generating your own leads is and has always been the way to go. For years and years I've been telling agents to only use internet leads and a supplemental source.

Some didn't listen, wrote 100% of their business off internet leads, now quality has tanked as has their production.

The single best move I ever made was to get away from internet leads.

I have always offered instant quotes. It really doesn't matter what they think their health is, the carriers will almost always offer something different.

Once I talk to them I can get into risk assessment but if I never hear from them that option is lost.

You probably get better quality leads from those filling out a request form but you will starve while waiting on someone to fill them out. I get anywhere from 0 - 6 quotes a day run on my site but if I get 3 request forms a year that is a good year.

One thing I have learned is that when the customer "applies" for coverage on your website, they don't always go through with the process.

My websites will generate 2-3 customers per day actually hitting the "apply" button after they have reviewed the plan. But believe me...the number of customers that end up being issued is definitely far less than that.
