Why is There So Much Hate About Lincoln Heritage?

I sincerely wish you the best Roger! This journey of trying to make it in the insurance industry can be very challenging. That being said, Lincoln Heritage (LH), will make it tough for you to succeed long term. Many times your client is going to send back another lead card to one of the IMOs on here and for multiple reasons you see on here, you will get replaced, which will lead to charge backs and debt.

The Lincoln Heritage (LH) contract or "agreement" is not in your favor. The prices are much more expensive than most other companies. They will put folks in a modified policy (even more overpriced) for things like blood thinners and COPD, which can very easily go level with multiple other carriers AND pay you more commission AND give the client a better deal.

You will never know exactly how much you are getting paid from week to week because they will arbitrarily charge you for leads each week. Also, you can only make $700 or $800 per household I can't remember which.

You have enough obstacles already. Make sure to reach out to one of the IMOs on here. There are many good groups and some will even help subsidize lead cost for you.

Their rates are high, underwriting isn't very favorable (especially when you can't offer other carriers), the FCGS is a pure gimmick, low starting contracts + high lead costs...

They aren't good for the client or the agent.

That's why they get hate.

They're number 1 in FE because they really have mastered marketing this product to consumers and agents. It's not because their product is the best for consumers or for agents.
Isn't marketing the name of the game in any business?
 
I agree with all the negative things each and every one of you had to say about LH. However.....you can't blame or hate them for a better job of recruiting more agents and selling more policies than we are. Call it what you want; MLM, naive 1st year agents, FCGS gimmicks, etc., etc., etc., they are good at what they do, and that IS MARKETING!!! Everything else is just rhetoric.

100% agree! I love Lincoln Heritage (LH)! They get guys into the business and get them to sell expensive policies! Makes my job so much easier!

We don't dislike them because they are good at marketing. We dislike them because of all the Kool-Aide they serve up. If they didn't do that they wouldn't do so well. So, like Banker's Life and Casualty, they'll do and say anything to make that sale. It's how they are taught and some of them even believe their own lies.

Yes but the nature of this thread isn't about who markets FE best.
The nature of the quote is, "Why hate on LH...?" My response was... for those of us who are haters, its because we are envious of LH getting both more agents and more clients to do business with them, than we are. If LH were not outperforming us by such a large margin, we wouldn't even be discussing them. Every industry has at least one company that uses unethical practices. Every company, no matter how great, has at least one individual within it, who employs unethical practices. Sometimes, its the CEO himself!
If my wife leaves me for another man who pays her more attention, which one of them should I blame (hate)? Is he unethical for approaching a married woman? Perhaps. Is she immoral for being seduced? Maybe. Does it really matter who's at fault? No offense, but he MARKETED himself to be more appealing, even though he may have sold her a dream! Charge it to the game, my friend. That's Pimp'n 101.

Todd, I hear you. However, we serve Kool-Aids also. I can't hate you cause your clients prefer drinking your Kool-Aid, instead of mine. We are competing in a free enterprise society. Instead of hating, I say lets try and do a better job "marketing" our product and services as superior.
