I'm looking for a comp program, something with a rater.

I used to use BTIS but they stopped writing comp in NY.

My main carrier also isn't interested in start ups for comp.

A second option for this line would be great!

I have had some success with Fast Comp. No rater, but rather quick turn around, and good with no prior/new in bus.

FirstComp or Guard? Both have raters, not sure of appetite in NY. I recall both being willing to write a start up.

The Maplewood Group in Ohio writes hard to place workers comp in most all states. They have lots of markets, you might want to try them.

Ohio has a company that specializes in comp? That's surprising.

NY it all depends on the class of business. Anything construction get used to NYSIF. for your easy office class retail etc.. the list is decent .. travelers, hartford, guard, amtrust...

If you chase construction with carrier get used to marketing it every year or best case every other year with the new random carrier. Get them in a safety group and move on...
