Worst Appt Week EVER!

Whew, I'm about to get started in California. Hope I'm not blown off course as well! As I've heard, California is a VERY tough state to do FE in. One problem is the 335,000 licensed insurance agents in this state. Lots of people are just hanging on as well, unfortunately. Lot of people upside down on their mortgages, debt, bills, etc. One tough state.

If you really believe that, do yourself a favor and quit now. Starting a new venture with a defeatist attitude is a recipe for failure.

No worries. The 335,000 includes P&C Agents and Non-resident Agents. You only have to worry about the 150,000 That concentrate on Life/Health. They all live within 30 miles from your house too.

LOL....Good Luck.:twitchy:

I generally set between 3-6 appts a week, and door knock the rest. My appts show up close to 75% of the time typically. I've just knocked on my 5th appt door 10min ago & she's my 5th No-Show!

I have 2 more appts set today, anyone wanna guess if I'll go 1 for 6 or 0 for 7?

Anyone ever have a worst week, appt wise? I can't imagine anyone has gone worst then 0-5?

Gotta love this job.... Never seen anything like this & I thought by now I would've seen pretty much everything!

I have had weeks like this and they do happen to the best agents. This is why its hard to find good agents because its not easy and there is ups and downs. If anybody says they never had days like this they obviously don't work FE full time.

I sell life insurance to whoever if it's a senior then I call it final expense but it happens no matter what market. What is important is to have the pipeline full. On to the next =)

The single hardest and most expensive lesson for most agents.

If you don't have enough activity then you don't have enough prospects. So either you aren't prospecting enough or aren't buying enough leads. Whatever you do to get prospects, do more of it. Fix your activity problem so that you have enough qualified prospects and with any sales ability at all the rest will fall into place.

You're in Shannons team right? I remember one of his conference calls where he went 0-8. So he has you beat. You can have a bad day,you can have a bad week, but you can't have a bad month.

Well I had my 6th appt, she showed up with her brother & BOTH got policies, but it took awhile. So I called my 7th appt, and told her I'd have to reschedule, it was clear across town, I'm starving & it's close to 90 degrees today.

I had already met her in person, she's Def interested... And she said next week is fine with her. She was 1 of my No shows this week too.

So..... Keep at it ppl, keep at it!

I believe his 0-8 was sold policies.... Not 8 ppl in a row that just didn't show up!

That kind of week can only happen to the "best" agents.. The bad agents won't have enough activity for it to happen to them. :1frown:

The good thing is a good agent can take comfort in the fact that it won't happen every week. Sooner or later they have a week where everybody shows up and they have a week even greater than they expected.

You'll be good. Just power though it.

And yeah, I have had worse weeks. Make those appointments 3 hours away on different days. Then on Friday you get noticed that you got a large charge back so no commission check, and the one case you wrote on Monday just canceled. Everything in pending is still waiting for Kaiser APS'. All this a couple months after your wife quit her job and all the benefits. And you have two in diapers.

And you survived and prospered. What a lesson for all of us.
