5 Star Final Expense

A day and a half fishing last November. Caught over 30 largemouth and smallies. Several fish over 4 pounds. My son was happy as a kid in a candy store.

We went with Jimmy Scott. He has fished that lake for 50 years. He knows where the fish are. We released everything.

It's my son with his biggest smallmouth. Didn't weigh it but I would guess it was 5+. Dale Hollow Lake.

Dude! I've been dying to fish Dale Hollow! Mostly fish Pickwick, which Is full of smallies but a three pounder is pretty big there.

You must have crossed over to the TN side.. Know they don't grow them that big in KY.

We took off from the state dock and it was a short boat ride. If we were in TN, it wasn't far from the line. We'll definitely go back this fall. It was an awesome father son outing.

Here's a couple more.

Good lookin kid... and the fish isn't too bad either.

I've spent some memorable times at the Sunset Dock, (both old and newly expanded). I preferred the sleepy old Sunset run by the old country gal with its 15 or so cabins, before the new bridge went in. Was a great place to hide out from the world for a few days.

You were a short distance from the location of the world record small mouth catch and several 10+ pounders. State dock is just a very short distance from the state line where the Wolf and Obey come together. Billy Westmoreland the Dale Hollow legend who had sveveral 10 lb catches always said the next world record would come from that area.

I grew up on Dale hollow and this area is where my mother's family grew up before the lake was backed up in the 40s.

Sunset is where the 11 lb 15 oz world record was weighed in. Later someone confessed that Mr. Harrison (The old country gal's husband) and the angler had added some weight to it and it was brought into question and almost changed the records. But they decided to leave it be.

Sunset was a quieter better place back then. Big difference now now.

When we went, we stayed at the lodge. It was beautiful. I had never been there before. And in late November we pretty well had it to ourselves. ... You guys are giving me the fever talking about it. I'm ready to go back! :-)

It's been over 2 weeks and still no agent packet. Emailed the contact I had over there and got an auto reply she will be out of the office till the 13th.

Sent an email to the main address concerning my agent packet and haven't received any response.

I have this sneaking suspicion I will never ever receive an agent packet from 5 Star.
