A Day in the Life of a FE Pusher

My wife and I both have our LTCH do you?

Waiting on it to come in. Average wait is 4-5 months right now. Though I heard on the news people with common names can take much longer. I guess they have to run background checks on anybody with the same name as you.

My name is Joshua Jones. I'll probably get mine in 2015.

My wife and I have had ours for a long time but we had had carry permits before. That may have made it faster.

It is lifetime to carry handgun in Indiana. It is a permanent permit to carry concealed.

Not just concealed. Indiana has no "conceal" terminology in the law. You can open or conceal carry.

I thought it was always legal to open carry. Am I wrong?

Yes you have to have a LTCH to either carry open or concealed. Ohio lets anyone open carry, but must have a permit to carry concealed.

From Wikipedia:

Indiana requires a license for most methods of carrying a handgun. Indiana laws are silent concerning the manner of carry therefore laws cover open carry, concealed carry, vehicle carry and locked case carry. There are exceptions for carrying a handgun unloaded, not readily accessible, and secured in a case in a vehicle, on your own property, from place of purchase and to a firearm range for the purpose of practice.[1]

Don't know about Indiana but in TN you have to have the license to carry permit in order to carry concealed or open. Even applies to transporting the weapon in your car unless you have the clips and or ammo in a separate compartment from the weapon.

Thats similar in our law. But every state has different laws. And not every state honors other states' permits. Just an FYI, IN honors all permits. Sp feel free to drive thru locked and loaded.

Makes for an interesting conversation with the wife on why we have to drive around Illinois to get to Wisconsin for our summer vacation lol. Maybe I can take a boat around Chicago.:twitchy:
