Advice on My Website

I'm not here for a pissing match or a Pepsi challenge. Just sharing and trying to help.

And yes, I think it's bad advice. There are enough search engines besides Google that do put some weight on meta keywords to justify using a few.

The argument about competitors being able to see what you're targeting makes no sense. It is obvious to anyone that knows what they are doing what you are targeting and/or ranking for by looking at a number of other things on your site including title tags. Should I eliminate these from my site to avoid competition as well?

I have a few sites ranking quite well (some mine; some for other people) and have nothing to prove on here as I'm not selling my SEO services to anyone here.

Bad Advice, Call it what you want.

Downside? If you really know what your doing and put your money keywords in that location, you just allowed your competition to see your targeted phrases.

You seem to be familiar with websites and ranking. Mind showing us some of your sites that are ranking in the Search Engines?

I think it was yourself that started the pissing match, by making the comment my advice was bad. I am really not concerned what you do or dont do on your sites, not my business or client. So not sure where those statements came from.

So I think its you that has the issues. Its not about proving anything, Seeing actual results helps others learn.

I never said your advice was bad or wrong or made no sense, as you stated to my post
I just stated the facts about keyword tags, and why Alt descriptions are important.

Trust me, I dont have to sell my SEO services, not even the issue.

Meta Keyword Tags? Dead since 1998 -2000 no search major engine uses them as of today. I think Ask.com still uses them, but that should tell you something.

You will hear all kinds of "Expert Advice on this Subject" but talk is cheap, and pointless.

Have them show you how thier "advice" has worked on sites they have optimized , and ranking for relevant traffic terms.

If they cant, Its just noise or something they have read and like to repeat to sound like an "Expert"

It's obvious we have a difference of opinion on meta keywords. Trust me, we are not the only people butting heads on whether to use them or not.

At any rate, I had no intention of starting anything, but it's clear from the post above that you were stating my advice was incorrect.

SEO is not an exact science. Search engines are changing their algorithms on a regular basis. No two people are going to agree with everything when discussing how best to optimize a site. I have my tricks that work, and I'm sure you do as well.

The biggest tip that can be given to anyone is to first and foremost, optimize for your visitors and provide relevant content. Sure, there are tweaks that can be made, but the search engines, especially Google, are about the end-user experience and quality search results.

Ditch all of your javascript & use an external style sheet. Your code is mangled & the search spiders wont enjoy it!

Best of your site passes validation here:

validator . w3 . org **remove the spaces

To ensure its compliancy w/ web standards. And best if you cut down on all that java.
