Agent Friendly Portals

I like SNL portal, super easy.

Amber

How do you look up an existing policy on the SNL site? I really like it for submission and tracking through issue, but after it's been issued it seems like it disappears never to be seen again. I have called in to try to find out a way to look up existing policy holders, but everyone tells me it's not possible.

On that account snl sucks .The only way to know If something is paid after issue on clean apps is if it shows up on daily commision statement.on clean apps with snl they never show under pending and you don't know if every received.Every company needs were an agent can pull up his whole block of business at one time and see paid to dates.also were snl is very weak is if a policy is issued on submission you never see it. You just don't know if they received it until it shows up on the commission statement. But snl has a nice very clear monthly commission statement. And no doubt if you send in a clean all with snl and the draft is on issue money is in your account in 2 days. I agree with all on here Trans commission reporting and policy tracking software is the worst.

This is one place where I will give Oxford a pat on the back. Easy for ordering supplies, looking up client information and agent reports.

It's an admittedly small sample size, but in the few apps I've sent them I seem to be having a terrible time getting them to issue policies in a timely fashion. I sent one in on the 18th of this month, heard nothing, called them on the 26th and was told they were still working on the previous week's business. It's now the 31st and it still isn't issued. No issues with the app and completed the interview.

They lied, playa. Got one issued in 2 days. I'll agree with Oxford having a friendly website.

It's just a habit now. I want to stay top of my business. As soon as I see an NSF I call the person that day. Most of the time people hear from me before they even knew there was a problem.

I check pending to see if there are any requirements. I check issue dates to make sure they are not drafting the first draft on the wrong date. I find more problems with that than any other thing. And with every company.

The first thing I check everyday is my bank statement to see if the deposits I saw the day before are in there. The first thing I check at every company website is my commission statement. It's very rare to find a commission error.

It's just part of what I do. Noboby cares as much about my business as I do. The folks at Trinity were a bit taken back by me calling about drafting problems when I first starting writing them. They would say, "we haven't even sent the letter to the client yet". I would say, "well you sent me an email". They are used to me now.

Travis makes fun of me about it when we are on vacation. He will say something like, "you been on the company websites already?".

Of course I have been.

That's one area where I drop the ball big time. I rarely go to a company website for anything. I think it stems from my day's in the car business. Other salesmen would always be checking their commissions to the penny on each and every car they sold. I just assumed if I spent more time selling cars in the end it would take care of itself.

I also assumed the people in the back weren't trying to screw me so the mistakes would maybe even themselves out.

You raise some very valid points as to why to check it daily. I need to make a conscious effort to pay more attention to the business I write. Twice in the past 2 months I received a call from a client who never got their policy. When I called both times the company claimed they never got the faxed application.

Same here; I've learned the hard way of the consequences of not following up with your business via your Agent Portals.

Now it's ever more important as I have a pipeline of agents' business to ensure gets processed properly.

And anyway, salesmen don't make the greatest detail-oriented people.

That's one thing I like about Aetna's, the ease of pulling up your block of business.

I call it "making my rounds". Every weekday morning after breakfast. I find that I can keep the little problems little if I'm ahead of the curve.

Guilty as charged :goofy:

That's the one thing Equita did very well; they had some Home Office people spend the day scrubbing agents' apps prior to submission.

I imagine the process paid for their salaries multiple times over.

Perhaps when I get big enough, that'll be something I'll employ (back office app scrubbing and retention department).
