Another Obamacare Delay

Not an Obama fan but lifeline that we all call obama phone's was created in 1985 for low income and expanded a little under Bush and then it became Obama's problem. I have always called them free Obama phone's because I never knew this plan existed until pointed out to me from a Reagan fan, I guess he started it. Obama should have been a one term prez.

Any rate I cannot understand them delaying this, hell all the plans should be completed and ready to go by this point. Must be Humana got to them again like their hand in changing the Med Advantage commissions a few years ago.

Food stamps began in 1964 but the number of people on food stamps doubled under Obama.

The Obama phones did begin under Reagan but never had as many who qualify as have under Obama.

Anyone who does not think this guy is a Socialist is out of touch.

Reagan was a true visionary for naming them Obama phones... May be the smartest man ever

You assume I am an Obama fan and disagree that he hasn't taken this country in the wrong direction. Far from the truth. I never said it did not expand under Obama. Most people out there think he started it (including me at one time) and that was not true.

Started something vs morphed something.

Reagan, in his wisdom, did not include cell phones in the 'universal service' fees.

In 2008, this was changed to allow cell phones to be included.

That said, I think this is one case where Bush really did do it, but Obama is more than willing to take the votes it generates.

CNBC article today:

Newly revealed Obamacare delay draws fire

From the last paragraphs:

Sarah Lueck, a senior policy analyst at the Center for Budget and Policy Priorities, agreed that even with the delay "to the extent that someone didn't have [a cap on out-of-pocket medical costs] they will get one now."
And, Lueck noted, the delay does not apply to the state health insurance exchange plans, but only to group health plans offered by employers.
"In the individual markets where you have a surge of [uninsured] people enrolling, you're still going to have this cap," Lueck said.

I somehow missed this...does this only apply to group plans?

I missed that if it true. Small groups will just drop insurance at that point if will be better for employees to swim on their own

Which couple of companies in the article do you think they are doing this for? I did mention Humana, but now leaning towards UHC and Aetna.

It's only group, and it's only those insurers/group plans that have a 3rd party RX benefits manager with different administration, and to merge the processes together got a reprieve for a year.

"System problems...........again".

Get used to saying that.
