Anyone Heard of High Def Nation Health Insurance?

I'll tell you right now, our dental discount plan is saving us a ton of money. Braces time for my son and we don't have dental insurance. We went with a discount plan recommended by his ortho and are saving just a bit more than half off.

For groups, dental insurance is easy. There are many quality programs available with large networks of dentists, true fee-for-service payment, out-of-network benefits, and good coverage. Many plans have no waiting period for major services anymore, and most plans will pay for Endodontics (root canals) and Periodontics (gum disease) at the higher percentage for BASIC services rather than MAJOR. I sell quite a bit of group dental.

For individuals, though, it's a tough market because only those who need their teeth fixed tend to buy it.
So, it seems the answer is often one of the bzillion "discount dental" plans (also called prepaid dental or dental HMO plans). I've always disliked them, though, and I usually just refer my clients rather than suffer the bad reputation that comes from selling one of the plans. I tell the clients to call their dentist and ask which one of the plans he/she is participating in, then enroll in that plan. The plans work well for some people, particularly those with small children. Some people love the plans. A lot of other people hate them, though. Dentists tend to join, build up their practice, then leave the network. You can call in January for your annual checkup and be given a June appointment date (at least here in Phoenix, anyway). That's because the Dentist is paid capitation (a small amount monthly for every person who chose him/her as their Dentist), rather than Fee for Service (a claim payment made after services are rendered).

I've found that most individual/family indemnity or PPO dental plans which are not discount/prepaid plans don't last long. Usually after the waiting period for major services is up the rates double or the plan goes away. I just don't get involved in those plans anymore.

AP dental plan Plus is actually dental, vision, prescription and chiropractic. All for $14.95 and $19.95 for the whole household whether you're related or not. The services are identical to most dental insurance - actually better as I said they include ortho, Lasik, etc. For dental and vision, you're not limited to # visits. And now we have Ameridoc. One client's child was sick, she called it into the pharmacy. Pharmacist looked up medical record and wrote out the prescription. I could go on but I won't.. unless you want me to! :1wink:
btw - I think everyone would want to have a dental check up once or twice a year. We make it easier and more affordable for them. Especially families with kids.

It is statements like this Suis that are leading people on here to harp on you and your companies products. I am looking at the Optima Health 1000 plan in Indiana for a family premium of $585. Would you like to clarify your statement in regards to the life insurance that this plan offers. I see it provides $10,000 of Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage, would you care to tell the class how much your clients family will recieve from the Life Insurance you provided with this plan when they pass away from a stroke or any form of sickness?

Additionally the following is from your own companies website

Program Disclosures

The discount healthcare services1 being offered to NAPP members are NOT INSURANCE. The association limited group insurance benefits being offered to NAPP members are NOT COMPREHENSIVE HEALTH INSURANCE and waiting periods apply. For specific benefit waiting periods, members may call Member Services at 866-365-5829. The discount services and group benefits being offered to NAPP members are marketed by American Workers Insurance Services (AWIS), a licensed insurance agency.

Please note the part about this not being insurance second please note the portion relating to a waiting period before certain benefits are available. The following services have a waiting period that you can only find out for how long by calling the 866 number:
