I get away with not having contracts for those two carriers am I missing that much?
IBC now finally has a $0 premium PPO to compete with Aetna (and now Cigna). They sent a two-page detailed list of the reasons to use them for this plan. Some very valid points (larger in-network hospital system, a lot of drugs are on lower tiers compared to the competitition, less prior authorization, largest in-network PCP & specialist network across all five counties), I could go on and on.
I have several people on them for their HMO, but am starting to use Cigna's Alliance plan now as well, as it includes dental, too ($3,000 year). If they aren't a Dual, but have a SPAP they may also qualify for charity care at a hospital (like Jefferson) for the stay. So it's a good deal.
As far as Clover goes, I just certified with them for NJ as I have someone in Salem County on a SPAP I'm going to switch over next week to their $0 PPO. $0 for the PCP, $20 for the specialist. She'll probably be able to get hospital charity care, too. And they have another plan specifically for those getting LIS.
They had some issues in Atlantic County a couple years back with a health system, which have been resolved.
