Anyone work with Senior Life doing telesales?

Todd....what took you so long? SL agents are not captive. I've mentioned that quite a few times up here before. I guess you're just another pot stirrer...lol.

As far as credit cards/direct express cards SL just started taking them about a month ago. Before last month we didn't even take them. Now we do, for whatever that's worth due to poor persistency on that block of biz. So now we do make a little as earned gas $$$ on the people who banks will not accept as customers, while some carriers still don't accept these payment methods.

No comment other than that? How many companies are you appointed with? Just curious.

As for the credit card statement that was made, it was about the interest on the credit cards to buy leads, not about clients.

Not only that, but the captive SL agents have to sell graded or modified to some that can otherwise get 1st day coverage. That makes the premium much higher for the client, especially because SL is very expensive at that point.

So, the commissions aren't good for the agent and many times what they have to sell to the client isn't good for the client. At that point, any savings on the funeral later on would be dwarfed by the difference in the face amount lost.
What I don't understand is the 0% renewal commission if you don't sell the VAP.. The insurance premiums are certainly high enough to warrant paying renewal commission like everyone else. Well, I do understand it.. It is a way for the Powell's to put even more money in their pocket... Ain't nothing wrong with that if agents are foolish enough to let them..

Yet another great point!
