I did stronglifts 5x5 for 9 weeks and even downloaded the app to track my progress. I definitely got stronger in those 9 weeks. I have done it a couple times since then as well but I always put the gym on the back burner when my schedule got hectic. Update! I just spent two evenings at the gym
No gym membership here, but a buddy of mine recently turned me onto the benefits of simple calisthenics. For this month I committed to push ups - 100 per day (not all at once lol). I do 50 in the morning before I shower and hit the doors; and then I do the other 50 in the evening after diner.
In September, I will add the three other “basics” as I’ve been advised: Pull ups, dips, and squats.
Amazing how much easier the push ups are 15 days into the program. The first day I got down into position, thinking I’ll do a quick set of 25 to get started. ROTFLMAO! Holy cow! I was SHOCKED at how difficult the first 5 were
By October, I will also add jump rope (I checked with my daughter’s rope, and I can still jump rope thank goodness), and backyard sprints.
