So I've been looking around here for discussions about cell phones.... what's best for an active Insurance Agent... haven't seen anything on this.

I'd like to hear what others are using, and why.

I use a LG VU920 (AT&T) it's a touch screen, that even
let's me get my emails and text messages, all my contacts,
etc. Thinking of switching to the iPhone. But so
far, it's helped me out greatly.

Wondering what others are using in their biz and
how it helps??

iphone. Emails are a breeze and updates real time. I can attach files and paperwork and send on the go; very important with what I do

I too had the LG vu and become overly disgusted with the lag time on getting emails. I kept getting messages telling me that I had received the email message by error; very irritating. Also do not skimp, go ahead and get the 16mb phone.

I hope this helps............

iPhone is the best phone I've ever used. Combine it with Apple - MobileMe and you have a mobile office.

Both the iPhone and Mobile Me work well with either Apple or PC. Forget Linux. You make a change to your desktop or your iPhone or your web "ME" page and it gets synced with the other two devices in minutes.

I really like the iDisk features of Mobile Me where I can upload files (like quotes and brochures) and send clients a link to them instead of pushing large files through email where often (with aol and hotmail and yahoo and gmail) they get "eaten" or corrupted. Best $95 a year I've spent in a long time. (Apple gives you a free 60-day trial. That's what I did. Found I could not live without it!)

G1 Google phone from T-mobile
Touch screen, GPS, Added apps from the Andriod market

The thing about 3G phones is the battery life isn't the greatest, but then again these phones arn't just phones anymore they are hybrid min computers.

Blackberry is another phone that is great for emails and have a loyal following hence the name "crackberry"

The Palm Pre is getting released within the next month and looks pretty awesome. It has the advantage of doing what the i-phone does but will also run the OLD version of Palm software too which many insurance companies still use. Palm Pre Phone - Features, Details, Reviews : Palm USA

The i-phone is excellent with the exception that I still have to carry a Palm around to run calculators.

I can tell you the worst...anything that runs Windows Mobile. And I am a huge Bill Gates fan but Windows Mobile is garbage. You would think that Word and Excel would at least work well on Windows Mobile but no...the old Palm runs circles around it and the new one (Palm Pre) will dust it.

You have to use Sprint for the Pre but it can't be any worse than AT&T...I hope.

I have used most of the phones out there. For over a year I have had the iPhone and have no reason to switch. I use gmail and google calendar with it and AT&T has a good network where I work.

Your primary concern should be, 'Does the network work where I work?' Some of the companies have poor coverage outside of the main cities and major highways. If the phone part doesn't work neither do the other features.
