Best Final Expense Company For Newbie?

Except for the 101 thing, that is.

If I had to do it all over again maybe 101 wasn't really worth the cost but when you are completely new to insurance and FE it wasn't a complete waste either. It's not amazing or anything but at least there is a video showing a live presentation in a home.

Yes you could easily pick the "presentation" to pieces as it isn't very good, but again, for someone new it's cool to actually see the flow of the sale.

Maybe that A-Z FE place is better or maybe there are some youtube videos that cover all you need. I'm not promoting 101, it just happen to be the website my rookie self signed up for like 3 months ago. I watched the vids, skimmed over the literature, and took what I could from it.

The only agent that didn't get something from FinalExpense101.com and wasted their money is the agent who never put it into practice.

I've sent many agents over there and will continue to do so. Some of the agents get it and some don't. Some just feel more comfortable when they are holding hands with their manager.

For an agent that wants to be truely independent though, it's a great place to start.

If you say so, I disagree.

101 is fine. If you are 100% new to this business it won't hurt you to check it out. I'm arrogant by nature so right away I thought of ways to do some things better, but whatever. That isn't a knock to 101 because I think we all develop our own methods.

For example from a few youtube videos and trying it first hand I've found it is a great idea to have a lanyard with picture ID and copy of your license laminated. It has a nice professional look and I've had a few clients really look at it. Validates who you are IMO.

2nd thing I've discovered is leave the damn briefcase in the car. Lugging it around is annoying and nothing screams salesmen like a briefcase. I have a small leather organizer with a few apps and rate sheets along with a GI app if I need it. The a nice folder with my business card inside that has the brochures you can get from whatever company you are representing that day.

Pen in your pocket and phone works just fine as a calculator so no reason to lug the briefcase around. Of course keep extra copies of all apps and everything else in your car so you have it but no reason to bring it all inside the house.

So there ya go, 2 things that I do that I didn't learn from 101. But hey that's just my style. Another agent might find a lanyard with ID tacky or feel lost without their briefcase haha.

So you paid for the site access and went through all of the training?

No, I did not pay him nor would I. The guy was only a producer for about a month and ahlf, two months tops and most of what he wrote was chraged back.

He still owes one IMO mega dollars. How would that someone to learn from? You may have a vested interest in sending people his way but I don't.

He does have some decent info on there that he got from Shannon Davey. In fact, on the audios he made for EFES he says that he patterned everyting after Shannon from wearing the same type of clothes to the same briefcase.

So while some of the info may be good I don't care for someone passing themself off as an expert when they can't do the work themselves.

A new FE agent could get far more, and better, training and advice from Newby's site or this forum and not have to pay either one of them for it.

Newby's site might be 10 times better, I wouldn't know because I've never been through the training on his site. Therefore, I don't feel qualified to make such a judgement; why would you?
