Buying Leads

Id rather buy new leads than go through aged leads. If I had a lot of money to blow than it would be different.
I haven't bought fresh leads in quite a while, so I don't really know what they cost now. But I'd recommend buying some of the cheapest aged leads to fill in time around the TM leads you bought from lead jerk.

Then, as you make sales, the first money you get is your seed. All farmers will tell you, "NEVER eat your seed!" Even if bills happen, you're broke until after you've bought your next set of leads.

I speak from experience. When I started my agency, I had no capital at all. I really had to hustle to make sales to have any income. But whatever income I got, before I paid anything else, I set aside enough for marketing money and gas money so I would have people to see and the ability to go see them. I got way behind on bills, but I never "ate my seed!" It was rough going at first, but before very long I started to see it pay off and I got caught up on everything.

So, work those TM leads. Maybe work some aged leads, too. Set aside enough for a DM order. Then work the DM leads. Rinse and repeat.

By the way, at this stage of your career, any lack of discipline will eat you alive. You need to get out EARLY, stay out LATE, and don't ever rest between calls (except maybe for a quick lunch break to recharge). If you don't have enough leads, knock the neighbor's doors of the ones you do have. Stay busy.

And stop this "pretending to have an appointment" business. Just tell them what you're there for. You'll make more successful presentations by being straight with people from the get go.

Thanks for the advice! There's a variety of aged leads but being honest I have no clue whether to buy the ones that have been sold to other agents or the ones that haven't or even how I should work the hell out of them.

It was more of a, I pretended that they sent in a DM lead and I had a few people actually go along with it haha. It was fun but even if they said they never sent anything in I just asked about what they have in place for their final expenses. I wasn't entirely sure how to go about cold door knocking

Are you working for EFES? If so, it seems like they had some that were pretty old, but really cheap. Occasionally I buy some aged internet leads from https://agedleadstore.com/

I don't call aged leads. I always cold knock them. The real lead is probably not the one on the paper. The real lead is often in the house next door. Having a lead gives you an excuse to talk to the neighbors.

So, at the original lead I say, "You had requested information on Final Expense plans sometime back, and it looks like you haven't gotten that info yet." Then go on like you do with any fresh lead.

Then knock the doors on either side of that lead, and the house across the street. At those houses I say, "I was here to see your neighbor, and just popped over to see if I can be if service to you. Who do you have your life insurance with?" If they give you any answer besides "get out of here before I shoot you", keep the conversation going until you either get in or get an appointment.

I am actually, and i was asking which because prices range would it be better to use all of the 10 dollar never sold before 2 year old ones or just buy a lot of the old sold before 25 cent ones haha.

You don't have to start off with meeting people by trting to mislead them. Instead of pretending you actually have an appointment, have a lead card in your hand; show it to them, sating, "You may have received a card like this............................"

$10 for a two year old lead?:D

If I were on a budget, what I would do is I'd buy a $50 list of 64 to 76 year olds, load them up in a good routing software, and go knocking. Doug Massi has a good video about this on YouTube where he suggests you print out a blank lead card and use that as part of your door pitch ... "Ms. Jones, we sent you one of these cards about the state-regulated insurance programs and we never got yours back. I'm visiting with all the seniors in your neighborhood who got this card. We want to make sure you know that you qualify for this benefit available for your family, and I just need a few minutes to go over it with you. May I come in?" ... here you put your head down, wipe your feet, and move toward the door.

Keep in mind, you're using them as filler. I'd buy the .25c ones for that.
