Hey guys,

So I need to have my car insured. The title is in my name, but I want to have my mom who lives with me and drives the car to the primary insured and I can be listed as a driver. The question is can I register my car in the DMV with my mom listed primary, even though the car is in my name. Is this legal and will I have to let my insurance company know this. Thanks.

you would need to reregister it with the dmv and inform the insurance company

If you own the car and insure it in mom's name you are not properly insured. You also put yourself at risk for her actions. Progressive will insure it in any name. Your questions is more for the DMV than for an insurance forum.

Is there a problem if she is listed as the primary driver and he as a secondary driver since they live in the same household if this vehicle lists him as the owner?

It doesn't matter who is listed as primary/secondary driver. The insurance policy needs to be in the name of the registered owner of the vehicle.
