Got a Cigna mailing today, and found it reassuring. See disclaimer below. Better stay in front of your clients.
---------------------------------------------
"What does your future hold?" - front of card
Inside -
"Cigna has your back"

"Some of you have inquired about what will happen to you if your current Cigna Individual or family plan customers enroll directly with Cigna when Health Care Reform is implemented in 2014**.

The short answer? nothing at all

Your cigna customers will remain mapped to you so that we can pay you commissions. After all, you worked hard to secure these customers and we believe it's only right that you continue to be rewarded for it."

** Not applicable for customers that select a different broker during their enrollment in a Health Care Reform compliant plan. You may be required to become exchange certified if your customer enrolls via the exchange. Commission levels applicable on the HCR compliant plans will be determined once additional HHS regulations are published.

I'm thinking of getting licensed in TX and stealin' both of your clients with texashealthexchange.com :nah::nah: ........and I don't like popcorn, maybe sell some beeeeeeer..... texas style :D:D

I see that EHealth nabbed most of the States for covered(state).com......but they didn't get Texas...or California......or Florida. I wonder what EHealth will do with those domains?

Since exact match isn't nearly as important any more, there are plenty of available domains out there.

I bough Yumpies.com a few months ago. Should make an interesting insurance site. Kind of a catchy and brandable name.

But I started looking at what the site looked like many years ago...and I realized...Yumpies is also YUM PIES! Yea, someone had a pie website! I never noticed it. Maybe some nice links. Then again, probably not.

Since the tiered Exchange health plans will be almost identical across companies, would a Cigna (or any other) customer choose to stay with Cigna, even if it's not the least expensive? Will people have "loyalty" to a specific company, even if it costs them $xx more per month?

It seems that Cigna is thinking ahead and signaling to the agent that their help in this matter would be rewarded. I wonder if these commissions will still be paid if the agent isn't certified with their state's exchange?

I wonder how many computer nerds they have on staff making sure they are no 1 on just about every relevant health insurance keyword.. unreal how much volume they generate. I do steal quite a bit from them.. I always say oh you got a quote from ehealth in California, you think they really know whats best for you here in PA? Usually works.

I expect most of the carriers to harvest costumer loyalty. The client may be comforted to hear, "You are covered by XYZ company, and you do not have to change. Your deductible will go up to $___, and your premium will go up to $____ to meet the minimum requirements of ACA. You may also select a richer plan for $____. Just make your selection and sign this form."

The plans won't be near identical... have you ever looked at Medicare advantage plans... they all work under the same actuaraly value but are so different to each other...learn it Allen...advantage plans are your future under 65 plans
