CMS Will Allow Initial Commissions for PDP Replacement

This is a great start and thanks to many that fought this. However, I won't celebrate until I actually see the money and I expect the companies to try and find another way to keep our money. We lost round one, round two seems that we got even. Round three is next.

The companies are behind this and we all know they don't quit when it comes keeping every dime they can.

Ritterim.com is a great resource for agents. I logged in every day during this commission debacle. I also wrote my congresswoman and state representative to let them know what was happening. There are a lot of agents that use this site as well. I have noticed a lot of agents, however, don't understand how important it is to get involved. We are in a time of change, and not necessarily for the better. Our industry makes up 17% of the US economy. If you factor in spouses, friends, and family, we have well over a 1/4 of the population on our side. That can be a very large voice if used. Write emails and letters to your local politicians. Make phone calls. This is just one example of agents banning together to take a stand. Take action now, before it is to late. Tell your politicians flat out that they will not get re-elected if they vote for a public plan that takes away our jobs and hurts our clients. Let them know you are watching.

You fail to understand that health care finance reform is an idea who's time has come, and it is very hard to defeat that.

Why not try to turn back the clock to a time when we had segregation, poll taxes, literacy tests, coat-hanger abortions, the military draft, male-only voting, banned labor unions, and on and on.

You would be better advised to back some reform where you still have a shot at making an income. Perhaps a plan where the carriers are dumped but agents contract with the government to sell GI plans or supps for a 4% commission.

On the other hand you could be smart and simply learn to sell life, LTC, DI, and annuity... or get a 6 and 63 and be a registered rep or RIA.

Health insurance sales is going the way of the buggy whip. Get over it and move on... or move out. This train is coming to the end of the line... and the schedule has been canceled.
