I was asking Josh why that agency he knew of that was successful with cold calling didn't have any agents that were successful.
The bottom line is that cold calling for FE is not a good business model for the agent.

Direct mail leads have proven to be the only viable long term business model for the fulltime FE agent.

Most of the FE companies are using direct mail leads because they work with this market especially lower income. I use mail leads but I am also in the process of setting up a website (that uses a long tail search) keyword eventually tied to a Facebook page. I doubt the website will generate much business at first but over time it could be a good source of business or passive revenue, a pay for click ad is $20.00+.

Your direct mail leads are heavily subsidized by EFES. For the truly indepenedent agent who has to pay for a mail drop this can be cost prohibitive given the low returns. On top of that your "exlusive " leads are later sold to other agencies as aged leads. Not a good deal, and not sustainable unless you are in a program such as what EFES offers.

I wasn't talking about leads from EFES. The only viable long term method of getting leads for the fulltime FE agent is direct mail. Doesn't matter if you do them yourself or buy them from a vendor.
I've used just about every method out there except for cold doorknocking. I was doing FE before I got with EFES.
