Cold Doors 2020 - Discussion Thread

in the mean time I do need to figure out a phone sales solution to supplement f2f just in case

I would suggest learning to use the phone regardless of F2F. Even if you plan on doing door knocking and F2F forever.

You will lose some business that flat do not want to meet you. Or that want to do the majority of the work by phone and email and just do the ink and handshake at the end.

The prospect age and income you are probably currently searching for are very comfortable doing online and phone. They probably say dozens of homes, online. They may have done their loan, online. Very well may have esigned docs.

Many agents here will disagree. Internet and phone sales is not the future, it is now. MP and SIWL.

All IMohsoHO

Don't get too used to it or you'll stop going to people's houses altogether.

Texting becomes knocking and email is the appointment.

It is far easier to find prospects by door knocking than it is over the internet or through networking. I could see a few years down the road having a pipeline to work by phone, but it isn't going to happen quickly. I'm not selling cheap term - all of my phone sales have been over-funded par whole life.

Are you knocking leads or cold?

Most of them are aged hard leads so damn near cold

and a few of them are A leads that I have been unable to reach or I struggled to get them to set appointments by phone (the i don't know my spouse schedule, etc objectors)

but today I solely knocked aged leads.

I'll be honest I don't yet have the cajones or Knowledge (of the laws and such) to go Ice cold knocking.

For a while I was scared shitless to door knock at all. Lied to the manager and told them I was going to do it. Reality is months went by i FINALLY did it then 3 doors in i get attacked by a swarm of insects and had to abort the mission. But after a few days collected myself and went back at it.

Sometimes I prefer knocking because I can get a better read with body language than I can over phones.

The thing that gives me confidence and leverage is showing the lead card with their handwriting.

i always think the people that go cold knocking deserve some awards or something

Isn't DI the first to go when the SHTF?
I don't see it for individual long term DI. No way are these carriers going to see claims for this. 90-day wait is average and a lot of the policies have longer elims (clients w/ 6 mo emergency funds).

With this, you're going to be dead or back to work in that time period. They are definitely not going to allow claims for shutdowns either...that's more akin to losing your job which individual DI doesn't cover.

To add, a lot of the group short-term/long-term carriers don't even write IDI. They may be open to claims (short-term) but there isn't a ton of overlap.

If you're talking about the consumer, I don't see that either. They view this coverage as extremely valuable.

I'm getting a ton of leads right now.
