So I talked to this lady tonight on the phone and I will be seeing soon. She told me she had just bought a whole life policy through her credit union ( I assume its a CUNA plan.) She said she got 10K for $58.59

She is 67 Healthy Smkr.

I glanced at my foresters rates and 10K planright is $60.03

I am thinking CUNA must do a blended rate. Does anyone have suggestions or "dirt" on the cuna wl plan? What should my selling points be with this client? I am used to replacing AARP and Col Penn. Not as familiar with cuna. And when I see it, I feel like its usually term.

Thanks in advance for help.

Sounds like she has a better deal than you can offer. You're probably better off not wasting your time and moving to the next prospect.

It may be a decreasing benefit term plan like some of what I have run into. I have yet to see them be cheaper (at least up front) on their whole life, unless they just lowered their rates.

You need to find out what she has. Doesn't sound like CUNA, but might be. CVUNA is term to age 75. At 75 it converts to whole life at your choice of a higher premium of a face amount that matches the premium that is already being paid. The only one I've seen that person avtually kept was a $10,000 policy until 75 when she let it convert to whole life and kept thje same premium. That bought her a little over $3000 face of whole life.

By the time I saw her she was 80 and it was a little better priced than what I could at that face and 80 years old. We left it in place and she got a $7000 policy from me to get her back to the $10,000 she wanted.

I ran into another CUNA last week. It was a 2 year ROP on this lady who was 67 years old and was to end or have to be converted at 75 just like all the other CUNA policies I've seen. She had only had it two months. She was on oxygen so I referred her to Newby for Vantis. He replaced that CUNA with Vantis whole life and saved her money to boot.

Long story to tell you that CUNA policies are your friend.

Yeah that's what I was thinking. I'm not too worry about it. I am thinking she is confused about what she has. In fact I like seeing people who already have a policy. It means I am working with a buyer and willing payer.

One time a lady told me she had a plan from her bank or credit union, I looked at it, it looked like some sort of accident only plan, maybe some medical expense as well included, if I remember correctly. The odd thing was she had no clue what it was, and it costed her like $90 a month or so, way high for an accident plan. I was very surprised she was paying that for something she had seemingly no need for, but I was trying to tell her it wasn't a good deal and she was really defensive and really connected to it because it was from her trusted banker or something.

I'm betting it is more or less like the AARP piece of crap. Premium go's up at 5 year terms, (70-75) and such.
