Current Status of Healthcare.gov

The Fed website has been up and down for the past few days. That said I have processed a few this week. Had to leave and come back later when the squirrels had rested.

I got kicked out of BCBS Texas today. Decided it wasn't worth the time, enrolled them on the Exchange for the plan they wanted. Told them I would need an AOR letter in April. It wasn't worth the hassle.

It's the Exchange (hc.gov) that froze up 11 times. The "Return to Carrier" link back to BCBS-IL just wouldn't work at the end, so I'll need to do the AOR too after she picks plan and enrolls herself at bcbs.

I would be happy to start a donation website for squirrel food if it would make the damn thing run faster....

Our Government ordered $2.5 million worth of equipment upgrades this month to cope with "unexpected" traffic surges, but the number of enrollees are millions shy of HHS's goal. Thank goodness they're not meeting their goal, or we'd be back to October/November levels of hc.gov dysfunctionality.

"CMS could not have anticipated the need to add these additional services," the agency said. "The modification was needed to obtain on-site support at the [Exchange Operations Center] XOC to improve efficiencies and communications with other Exchange contractors."
"CMS experienced a surge of traffic on the healthcare.gov website and exceeded the maximum limits on the number of concurrent users," they said. "CMS believed if the additional were not added urgently, the Exchanges would not function as designed and citizens would continue to have issues using the Marketplace."

Stop using the carrier crossover.... Geez... Why are you guys using it... Because the carrier told you to? They want you to so the client can't see any other companies.....

Because its fun and enjoyable!!!

Plus, I've written a whopping 4 (5?) exchange clients now. I just send them the carrier link and say "have fun!".
