Customer that lives in Columbia wants to enroll in Part B at age 67

Would a DST-SEP apply here and have him avoid a Part B penalty? Or would he have to wait until the GEP in 2025 and pay a penalty?
There is a disaster SEP going back to 2022 in Florida that is still in effect.
 
I didn’t know seps work for starting part B. But I could be wrong.
Your right.A Special Enrollment Period for part B when dropping EGHP from active employment to enroll in part B is not the same thing as a SEP -Loss EGHP election code for part C or D enrollment .

Beyond dropping employer coverage, Part B enrollment SEPs are fairly new and even include losing Medicaid. I'm not in the mood to link to the CMS guidance that breaks them out, but have client call SSA and hope for the best.
