Do the rest of us get to hear the correct answers?

We're curious too.

I'd appreciate it if you would refrain from using terms like "darn" in regard to cats. I find that highly offensive and derogatory to me and cats everywhere.

From my discussions with the Ramsey Group and the ELP, they only allow one vendor per product (Insurance, Plumbing, Electrician etc etc) in any given area. Someone in Knoxville were already and ELP selling Insurance so they wouldn't allow another in the Market. Now this was only two years ago so don't know if the need for more money via fee's have change Ramsey's mind or not, but from what I understand that is the stipulation.

It's definitely one per area. It would dillute the value if he was sending them to multiple agents and would result in less income for Dave. ELP appointments are not priced as a % of the sale but as an annual fee.

He even has a nursing home in our town which is his "Endorsed Local Provider" nursing home. The guy is a money-machine. You have to give him credit. I lump him in with the AARP. A lot of people think he is really looking out for them and he has found a great way to profit from that.

Don't we all do that? I mean profit from helping others, isn't taht what most sales people do?

Here's my thing, I don't believe in mixing business with politics or religion. I'm not here to tell you what I think about George Bush, I'm here to help you with insurance. Same with religion.

That being said, I'm a Free Mason, and wear my ring and Lapel Pin. Also anyone that walks into my office immediately knows due to Certificates of Appreciation and such. That tends to put off some people, but I'm in a Fraternal Order not a Religion.

Nothing wrong with it as long as the client is aware that I financially benefit if you accept my recommendations.

Organizations like Consumer Reports and even Dave's biggest competitor Clark Howard make a strong statement that if they accept 1-penny for endorsing a product or service (even if they believe it is a good product) they have compromised their integrity. And it shouldn't happen without making it clear that they are acting as a paid spokesperson. Dave NEVER explains that he is being paid to recommend the things he does.

I just don't like that part about him. I do enjoy his radio show though and agree with much that he says.

Just my opinion.
