Disaster - people coming together

As I sit on my comfy couch having my 3rd cup of coffee. I am watching youtube of the disaster relief efforts on the East Coast.

What struck me is the strength and resilience of the people. Also the help flooding in from allover the country. From Musk's Starlink to 'Hillbillies' in 4x4 full of water, diapers, fuel and chainsaws, to people donating money and volunteers caravaning in from across the US.

Strong ass people. They are stand up men and women.

Great point. I love it when folks show compassion for each other and come thru stronger; what sucks is it's soon forgotten after the tragedy or such occurs.

It is nice to be reminded there are good people everywhere.

I live in South Carolina, but on the border with Charlotte NC. There were 2 observations that impressed me. The first is as WinoBlues mentioned, people spending their own money to help. In addition to drones, there are private pilots flying helicopters and fixed wing plans on their own dime and time. As well as truckdrivers and others.

The second is the time being put in by all of these people, i.e., first responders, repair personnel, etc. There is a hotel near my home that houses electrical/telephone repairmen. They return around 8-9 pm every night and are gone by 6:30 am as I am leaving for work.
