EV Takes 4 Days to Charge

Infrastructure

Sure, if you own a house and can afford quick chargers for all your household drivers you are good. If you live in a rented house, an apartment, a condo or many senior complexes, student housing, military bases, 10s of millions of Americans would be SOL.

Having to own a extra "got to get there" car or a truck seems to defeat the purpose.

Cart v Horse.

I do believe EVs are going to be the majority one day, just not to day.

You dont need to own a quick charger. Many can plug in to a normal wall outlet for an overnight charge.

So apartment complexes could just install normal 120v outlets in parking lots at each space.

Yeah, not in California. They are lucky if their catalytic converter is still there in the morning. The homeless pull the wiring from street lights here.

What they need is a removable fuel cell that you exchange for a new one just like you do a propane tank.

That sounds like a great idea. Cost may be an issue but it answers some of the time issues. Also, would answer some of the last minute and emergency fuel needs.

The charge cable (copper) is what thieves target, and is easily overcome by having a detachable cable, in which case, drivers would need to simply plug in their own cable to the charging station.
