FE Mailers

I've only used it to the extent of telling them that I should bring the card by to show them the signature, not mentioning the police, but I would tell them there might be a serious problem with someone else signing their name and they should look into it. Then of course I set the appointment.

I just thought of adding the police part in when I read the question. I thought it would add even more urgency or get the truth out of them!

You personally go out to see clients?

I agree. I don't pay any attention to that when they write it on the card. Rarely have they ever mentioned it again once I'm in the home.

The FE market is full of serial mailers. They don't know what they might have put on the card.

The ones that still tickle me now are the ones that claim they didn't send it, but they used one of their own preaddressed labels on the card. I tell them, "not only did someone forge your signature, they got into your personal address labels as well".:D

Tell me about it. I got a card from a lady 2-months ago that wrote "If it isn't free, forget it" on the card. I had received two other FE leads from her over the last year and every time I had an appt with her she was not home.

So when I got that latest one I didn't make it a priorty to see her. I finally got around to it a couple weeks ago and that dammmned JD Easy had just sold her a $65 monthly policy a few days earlier.

I said what happened to "If it ain't free, forget it?"

She said "Well nothin's free is it?"

I think sometimes the prospects are trying to weed out agents that are trying to really serve the client from a needs based perspective with a product with a good fit opposed to snake oil sales. Let's face it the public perception of insurance is about on the same par as car sales.

If none of them remember filling out the card than why pay for them in the first place? Just scrub your infofree list or get one scrubbed from Josh and start door knocking right?

Ma'm or sir, my company sent me out here because you filled out a card asking for information about *burial insurance, FE insurance, life insurance, whatever*.

They follow up with "I don't remember filling out a card"

They were going to say that anyway so what changes about your pitch? Plus you just saved yourself money on mailers or buying leads!

Of course these are just the out loud thoughts of a rookie...

This was exactly my point in post #25 of this thread except the idea works better with calling. When door knocking you can show them the lead. Also, door knocking is a less efficient use of time

I went back and re read your post, it seems many disagree with it!

Well I'm a rookie, so I don't know much of anything. I've read time and time again about you guys showing up to the door and them not remembering they filled it out. LH training so far is very much stressing that even though these are "fresh exclusive leads" your biggest challenge will be getting in the door cause they don't remember filling anything out....

:err:

EFES leads are what, $11 a pop or maybe more? I would be pretty ticked if it cost me $11 to have someone tell me they don't even remember filling anything out. Does the client really react favorably to you pointing out their signature? I would think that would put up their defense wall even more (possibly because they are embarrassed or feel like you are trying to catch them in a lie).

Personally (and again I have zero experience) I would see if it were possible to buy cheap old lead cards. Does that exist? Spend $1.00 or $1.50 and head to the house. When they give you the inevitable "I don't remember" line, just play the victim and claim the company made a mistake. But since you drove all that way...

Then segway into your pitch. I have a feeling the reaction from this client will be same whether or not you are about to trash a $1 lead card or an $11 (or higher) lead card.

You either gettin in the house or you ain't right?

Hell forget the card, just have a clipboard with her name and address on it and say she was printed on your list of interested parties to see that day. Of course I could be wrong but when it comes to getting into someone's home based on a "survey" or other sales approach isn't it more of a numbers game and not so much a quality of lead card game?

Don't some of you guys door knock on a few houses around your client's home anyway? What's the difference?
