Florida Med-Supp Agents....

Was on UHC advisors today trying to do the same.
No download and No order button available yet.

I am curious if someone calls AARP, will the telesales agent be able to sign them up on the phone right now?

If so, I will have to make fun of all my democrat friends!
Oh wait, I do that now!

Instead of starting a new thread of small importance, I figured I'd ask it in here.

Had a prospect who went with Bankers (promised a bunch of BS) for a May 2010 effective date. She was told that her med supp would go from $198 to $181 in June 2010.

I know Bankers is selling Col. Penn (i think) for June effective dates but does anyone know if their current policy holders get a decrease in premiums in JUne?

I checked the FL DOI. I see nothing about Bankers Life filing for a rate decrease effective June 1st, 2010. I'm saying BS to that agent.

If she took a policy with a May 1 effective date then I has to be one of the existing, non Modernized plans. If the Modernized plans that become effective June 1 has a lower premium it will be a separate, new book of business. No company is going to automatically sign them up for the New Modernized Plan and automatically lower their premium.

She will have to fill out a new application to get a new Modernized Plan and the premiums companies charge for that plan.

If it's in a S FLA e coast zip, june is going to be way more $ than a may sup. No rate decrease here.

Im not saying she has a modernized plan. She was told that Bankers was having a price decrease in June for their non modernized plans...they don't even have modernized plans.

I called her today and she said she was going to give her agent a call. I told her the DOI doesn't show a decrease (thanks russ) and she didn't seem too happy.

Sorry, I read it too quickly. I didn't understand that her agent told her the policy she took would get a decrease in June. I would suggest to her that she not hold her breath waiting for that to happen.

In his enthusiasm to make a sale he probably just made an "honest mistake".

Chazm,
Your client is in SW Florida, Manatee, Sarasota County probably. The reason the agent told the client that is it was information that was given out in the local branch. It was wrong. The info was given out about 45 days ago. The agents have all been informed of the error. They were told the new Colonial Penn modernized plan was going to be approved with a rate of 181. It wasn't. Much higher. Now the agent gets to go back to the client and beg forgiveness (or ignore the client and hope they keep the policy without checking with anyone else).
