Florida Med-Supp Agents....

Chazm,
Your client is in SW Florida, Manatee, Sarasota County probably. The reason the agent told the client that is it was information that was given out in the local branch. It was wrong. The info was given out about 45 days ago. The agents have all been informed of the error. They were told the new Colonial Penn modernized plan was going to be approved with a rate of 181. It wasn't. Much higher. Now the agent gets to go back to the client and beg forgiveness (or ignore the client and hope they keep the policy without checking with anyone else).

No, she is in Orange county, which is central florida. She also does NOT have a modernized plan. Her birthday was in May.

Maybe the agent told her if she will wait for June she can get it for $181....I dunno, will call her back again soon

You must be from Miami or somethin'...

Manatee and Sarasota Counties are part of the Tampa Bay area. South of there; Charlotte (Punta Gorda), Lee (Ft Myers/Cape Coral) and Collier (Naples) Counties are considered Southwest Florida.

No charge for the geography lesson. :D

I'm in Sarasota. Orange County must be in the same rate band as us. When I watch the fishing reports Tampa is referred to as SW Florida????????

Chazm,
The agent wrote the pre-modernization plan and expected to be able to go back and re-write it the next month as a modernized plan. The $181 is what they were told the modernized premium would be with CP. That information was premature as the rate had not been approved. The approved rate is around $217

Has anyone heard whether or not Gerber has gotten approved in FL? Someone told me on the phone today that they saw a rate sheet with the N plan at $120. Not sure if that was a filed rate or an approved rate, or if they've been hittin' the crack pipe. Anyone know?

That isn't true. They have filed for the modernized plans in Florida on May 10th.. Still pending. I don't see a filing for plan N on Gerber Life in Florida. Looks like they've filed for plans A...F and G...on modernized plans.

Do you have AARP or MoO or both?

To see if we are the same rate band I will give a couple quotes.

F Plan AARP $165 and $155 (depends on what county im in)
F Plan MoO $161 for female and I think $181 male

Chazm,
I've got MoO already. Waiting on my contract to go through with AARP. I just submitted it last week and they sent me the stuff to do the online training Friday. I got it done Saturday. So, I guess it will take a week or so. Anyone know how long AARP takes once you do that online training? I did it for both the Med Supps and Secure Horizon's MA plans. The rates with MoO are the same here.

You can prob print out the apps online right now. Just go to product info and materials. Then click materials and you can get the app there
