Florida Med Supp Carriers

i will call my fmo tomorrow and find out about renewals, I dont seem to have that in front of me

I apoligize, as it appears that my reading comprehension needs some work. I went back through it and discovered that what it actually says, is that years 1-6 for all plans EXCEPT A, K, L & MA Core plan pays $210.

It then has a seperate matrix for plans A, K, L & MA Core plan showing that they only pay $105 years 1-6. It appears that the plans in demand are paying $210 for years 1-6. Not great, but better than I initially thought.

So, what about the number of policies that one can expect to write on a weekly basis? I notice that nobody wants to volunteer that information. Is it a secret?

I personally have not sold a damn med sup since Dec. 31st due to the fact that they owed me over 4k in commissions and that is what was fueling my business this year, so now that my commissions are trickling in I can get back into the business. It depends how many leads you buy and from whom, I have good luck with Prospect Zone. If you have mail go to your phone and are the first to call them you can sell it, when I reach them first and make the appt. I close the appt.

Why were you waiting for money to buy leads? Why not buy a list of 1,000 for $95 and keep on selling?

Well, to answer that quickly, husband out of work 16 months, lost house lost car, trying to just stay above water with the reserve we had, health issues... But, now back up and running and moving forward.
where is this list of T65's for $95.00. Everywhere I look its 1000 names for 250 bucks.

I'm not sure why you would want a list of T65's? If you are looking to grow your business as quickly as possible I wouldn't choose that group of people.

Lead Concepts, their minimum charge is $50, $95 per thousand.

Russ, where do you get the T65 leads you're referring to?

Craig Ritter Marketing referred me to leadconcepts.com at 1-800-283-0187. Sixty-five bucks per thousand. I got over 1,000 62-64 year-olds within a 3 county area, screened against the do-not-call list.

Why would you pay a marked up price to Lead Concepts, when you can go direct to a compiler for fresher and cheaper leads? They are a mail company that purchases leads from a broker, that purchases from another broker.

How much per thousand and with whom? We're only talking $65 with what I posted.

Frank, I am always interested in your rationale behind your techniques as we have discussed before. Is the reason behind staying away from T65s because everyone and their sister are calling this list? That and the quickly increasing premiums on many premiums for those that feel stuck in their current coverage after age 67? That and the fact that not only do many in this business hate hitting the phones, but hate calling people that already have a policy, so they avoid this segment of the market?

With all of that said, working with this segment, saving them hundreds of dollars and taking care of them as clients usually equates to a long term relationship, even when your own premiums increase.

I know this is a tangent to this thread, but just looking for your angle...

As a new agent just entering this market, I'm hoping that a few of the experts here are willing to point me in the right direction.

In doing my research it seems that MOO & AARP/UHC, are two of the must have Med Supp companies here in the Tampa Bay area. Is this correct & who else should I add? I'm thinking 3-4 should do it.

Also, can I go direct or am I required to go thru an FMO? If I have to use an FMO, are there any that you recommend?

I would greatly appreciate any and all help that you guys are willing to throw my way.
Go to your insurance commissioner's website, and search for rates in your area. (https://apps.fldfs.com/mcws/CWSSearch.aspx) There you can see who is charging what, if premium is very important.

It's been about two years since I purchased my last list from them. I was "guessing" at what the price was. At that time I purchased several thousand and have not found the need to place another order yet. The vast majority of my clients come out of my Prospects Database. A list lasts a very long time the way I use it.

I am now just starting to call those who were 64 when I purchased the list. I have found it way too time consuming to call those who are T65. Not that I don't sell insurance to them, however, it is so much more cost effective and easier to contact and sell seniors at age 67 and above.

Thanks for the info about Craig.

The best I have seen is directly from USA Data and their partnership with Mutual of Omaha. Prescreened for do not call & do not mail are $35 per thousand with a $50 min.
