Norvax Favors Aetna???

Here's the situation:

Male 35 6-0 250 NS. No meds etc...


Is it true that the Norvax quote engine will always quote Aetna's best rate while some of the other carriers factor the height/weight into the quote?

I just got setup with Norvax and my understanding is there is no adjustment for special uW. With my carriers, BC and GR will quote std rates and Time will quote pref, I don't know about Aetna. It depends on rate class set up. I was disappointed in how this is done, but it was explained that all quote systems do it like this.

Aetna's a bit different since they go by BMI, not a standard height/weight chart.

Norvax will not quote BMI / Height Weight factors.

Norvax will also quote Tobacco as preferred with Aetna, which is no longer the case - Tobacco is always a rate up now with Aetna.

Unless they fixed this on the Norvax side.

It is hard to quote accurate with the massive amount of underwriting variations, most quoting engines quote preferred with the exception of Tobacco.

Aetna's new guidelines on smoking are a bit odd.

BMI of 35 (that's 5-5 210)...smoker age 50-54.

No rateup. Somehow, that doesn't make sense.

Even the Aetna UW guide doesn't tell agents at which BMI levels clients hit B and C tiers.

They got rid of the A,B,C's? The whole alphabet, or just the first 3 letters? What do kids learn in school now?

Just A,B and C. They were replaced by the letter M.

Thus...cat becomes mat...Batman becomes Matman etc...

It's a real mitch.
