For those of You Who've Warned Me/spoken Disparagingly About LH,

Hey Dragline, you sound like a pretty intelligent guy and I am sure what ever you decide will turn out great but you might taylor your dissatisfaction a little more especially if you choose to stay with LH. I got to beleive the management at LH is reading everything being said

Unless he is captive, why would he care if LH management monitors the board? That is the beauty of being independent.. You don't have to kiss anybody's rear end.

They have lowered their minimum persistency (can't remember the exact %). The only issue that I have is that unless vested, they will keep your pay thru, renewals, and include your advances in the debt in which you "must" pay back. I am so glad that I "always" keep these numbers to a minimum no matter who I am writing through.

Lowering persistency requirements will not terminate agents. Raising them could, though.

I heard somewhere that LH is positioning itself to be sold in a few years. Jack is getting on up there in age and Tom is losing interest in LH. I have no idea if this is true and may just be an erroneous rumor.

Sorry I was thinking he currently works for LH and if that is the case he might be wise to limit what he says about them. They might make his decision to leave for him.

I may be the one that is mistaken. I thought I had read in another thread that he was contracted with LH as an independent agent..But even if he weren't, oif he is producing and they want to terminate him becaseu of something he has said on this thread (which hasn't really been anything bad) then they are lower than what a lot of the others here portray them as being. I wouldn't want to be there no matter what they pay.

You and me both. I wouldnt want to be there either. LH gets bad mouthed all the time but in reality they do have some guys making money and who are very happy there.

Of course the world is full of idiots!

dragline, call MSPM, do a mailing, see for yourself. You are yet with Rosen.... give him a call. If you are going to act, do it quickly and wisely. Plan well...

I'm not in a position where I have to do anything, I'm just concerned about some things.

I had a fantastic conversation with a President of a FE company that was very insightful. Did a lot of listening, absorption, and have come to realize I do need to make a few changes.

I think I deserve better ( and can find a better) pay scale and am going to proceed with that outfit, hopefully they will have me.

I'd like to thank all of you for your comments and private messages.

If you leave, make sure your leads are completely paid for or they will send you the old nasty note and put you on Vector before you can turn around!

To answer your question about the TV leads, I'm pretty sure you won't find that. However, there are other ways to get good leads though. From what I've seen, very few agents actually like the TV leads because you get mostly the "near uninsurables".

What are some of your favorite lead strategies or sources? Have an email? Would be eager to talk with you, Todd.

I dont plan on replacing my current book, its unscrupulous would make me "one of them", but your advice is well-taken.

I owe nothing in leads and have already been contacted by an outfit here who has TV leads.

Interesting perspective, though, as my closing ratios for TV leads vs. Direct mail leads is almost 2 to 1....its compelling to hear from another agent that few agents prefer TV leads, whereas I'd prefer nothing else.

Thanks for your reply.

Can whoever had TV leads also contact me? Or post recommendations of companies accumulating them? Would be interested.
