Free Training

I can personally vouch for Frank's Medicare knowledge. He offered to help me and I spoke with him 3 times last week for aboout 1 1/2 hours each time.

I was knocking on doors Saturday, because I was bored and I love doing it because I want to stay busy, and on the 5th door, I spoke to a lady at her front door. She is 71 and she had her Med Supp with M.O.O ,and she said that "she was very happy with their service". I used information Frank had given me in one of our conversations to overcome the objection, was invited in and sold her a Med. Supp.:D, got referrals, and it turns out this lady knew many members of my family.

AWESOME! GOOD JOB!

I love it when a plan comes together. Each one will get successively easier.

Frank, are you doing this training any time in the near future? I was previously only doing MAPD sales, but I'm broadening my toolkit. I know about MA, but I am a novice at Supplements.

I'm also doing FE, Cancer insurance, and LTCi.

I do it one on one right now. I hope to be able to continue doing it that way. It is keeping me pretty busy but so far it is manageable.

I'm trying to get a lot of it down on paper so after we talk about it the agent will have something to refer back to.

If you are interested give me a call. Early morning is the best time to catch me.

I believe we are on the brink of a huge explosion in Medicare Supplement sales.

I will train agents to generate leads, prospect for and sell Medicare Supplement policies who are using Your Insurance Office.

I want to give a plug for Frank and will give numbers to back up what I am trying to say.

Frank has spent quite a few hours with me on the phone and numerous times throughout the week. I am very fortunate to work with him and Todd King. It is great to have people to bounce stuff off of, and they are always available.

Frank has patiently put up with my lack of knowledge concerning Med Supp. sales, and oh by the way, I actually thought I knew a bunch.

Using Franks training, I have written 6 Med Supps in 7 days and I have one more in my basket to be faxed to UCT in September when I can can answer a health question honestly, as it will be past the 2 year look-back, and I have 2 apps ready to send in after Nov. 15th to replace a couples MA plans.

Great stuff!! Have you used cold calling to generate this business?

"Jeff, selling Med Supps in the Philly area is tough. You will find that many seniors go for the MA's from Independence Blue Cross (Keystone) and Aetna. There are a few other players in the MA market, but those two are the biggest. With the zero premium offered by Keystone 65 and Aetna there is not much of a market left. I know that some of the agents on this forum have expressed displeasure with the MA programs from the client's point of view, but apparently there is a high satisfaction rate among customers in the Philly area for both Keystone and Aetna."

Any suggestions for selling med supps in the philly area? Or is there any approach to selling in a metro area, other than looking to more rural areas?

You sound like you are opposed to working in rural areas. Any reason why?

The approach I use will be moderately successful in a large Metro area today.

When the PFFS plans "go away" and the govt stops subsidizing the HMO's Med Supps are going to become a lot more attractive and competitive. Especially when they announce the new Plans M & N.

M & N will have relatively small premiums, copays which I believe Medicare should have always had and they will still enable seniors to go to "any doctor and any hospital" without having to screw with staying "in network".

Agents need to be positioning themselfs for when this happens. That is when agents should be able to kick ass and take names. That is also when my approach will work extremely well in both metro and rural.

Frank,

I,m not opposed to the rural areas. I'm a country boy at heart, I just happen to live in a large metro area and am wondering if the approach in a metro area is different than in a rural area.

I use to sell in both St. Louis and KC. The approach is the same. In MO I think country folks are a lot more enjoyable to deal with.

I grew up in Chicago and lived and worked there for several years after college. I understand "city folks" but much prefer dealing with "country folks" at least for Med Supps.

Although the approach is the same the people are totally different. I think it is a lot easier to sell Med Supps in the country.
